Prempro MDL Judge Throws Out $27.1M Punitive Damages Award, Orders New Trial
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The federal judge presiding over the Prempro multidistrict litigation yesterday reversed a jury’s $27.1 million punitive damages award to a woman who claimed that she developed breast cancer as a result of using Premarin, Prempro and Provera on the ground that the expert testimony provided by the plaintiff’s expert was improperly admitted and ordered a new trial (In re: Prempro Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1507, Donna Scroggin v.
